This mug was made to mark the coronation of Edward VII on 26 June 1902. It shows a portrait of the king alongside his wife, Queen Alexandra.
Town & Country
This mug was presented to children attending a Coronation Day event in Preston Park. It was commissioned in the name of the Mayor of Brighton, John Stafford.
Although it was produced for a civic event, the mug is a reminder of the town’s role in the nation. The plants surrounding the portrait of the king and queen represent the countries that make up the United Kingdom.
