Map of WW2 bombs in Brighton & Hove, 1944

This map shows where bombs landed in Brighton and Hove during the Second World War. It was originally published by the Brighton and Hove Herald newspaper in 1944, but the version here has been edited to show the bomb sites in red.

What can we find?

  • Can you find the street where you live? Or perhaps your school or place of work?
  • Why do you think some parts of Brighton and Hove were bombed more than others? Were the German bombers aiming at something?
  • Can you spot anything on the map that is no longer there today?

    1. Hello,

We don’t offer a print on demand facility at present, but you could download here and arrange for it to be printed elsewhere.

      Best,
