‘With cordial greetings and good wishes’

This card references a popular nursery rhyme of the time, Who killed Cock Robin? This murderous tale is now largely forgotten, but it tells of how a sparrow kills Cock Robin with his bow and arrow while a variety of other animals play a role in the bird’s death and burial.

This card takes a twist on the tale with a pun worthy of a Christmas cracker. The robin is now ‘robin the mail’ while the sparrow carries out his archer duties in the role of policeman.
